Jadon Thompson – WR – Cincinnati – 3-Star Transfer

The former Bearcat saw Scott Satterfield’s run-heavy offense coming to town and decided to get out of dodge.

In our trade with Cincinnati, not only did we ditch out average coach who was constantly looking for a new opportunity, but we also added a former 4-star receiver in Jadon Thompson, though we did lose Dee Wiggins, Dorian Jones, and Luke Kandra to the Bearcats… but who’s counting?

Thompson was a consensus 4-star recruit coming out of high school in 2020, but he never took off at Cincy.

In his junior year, Thompson did see a decent uptick in playing time, playing in all 12 games.

27 receptions, 393 yards, and 1 TD. But still, those numbers are average, at best.

But plays like this show off Thompson’s explosive ability.

Brohm stated during spring practices that Thompson was out with an injury that caused him to miss all of the offseason and the spring game.

That’s a tough start for the transfer receiver that needs reps in a brand-new offense.

Based on watching a little bit of film of Thompson, it’s clear he has the talent and the size (6’2, 187 lbs.) to be a solid outside receiver opposite of Jamari Thrash, but a slow start to begin his college career and missing all of the spring practice puts him behind in a WR room full of talent.
