Jeffery Clark – Defensive Line – Georgia State- 3-Star Transfer

In late May, Jeff Brohm spurned Georgia State one more time by taking one of their all-time leaders in sacks.

Jeffery Clark is the latest transfer to commit to the Cardinals after he spent four seasons with the Panthers. The 6’0, 280 lb. junior spent four seasons with Georgia State and racked up 40 appearances, 92 tackles, 19.5 TFL’s & 9 sacks (top-ten in school history). In 2022, Clark appeared in all 12 games for the Panthers and Led the team with 9.5 tackles for loss and was second with 4.5 sacks.

After a successful redshirt junior season, Clark hit the portal and chose the Cardinals over Arizona State, WKU, Toledo, and more.

Clark played defensive end at Georgia State, but with his size I imagine him playing more defensive tackle. Dezmond Tell looks to be the starter in the role this year, after a really nice 2022, but Clark’s ability to play both DT & DE should get him on the field a decent amount this year.

Clark has two years of eligibility remaining. I expect to see him in the defensive line rotation in year one, and the starting job could easily be his in 2024.
