After receiving offers from dozens of D1 universities all over the country, five-star defensive end Zion Grady trimmed his list down to just 10 schools on Sunday, July 23.

Jeff Brohm and the University of Louisville football program managed to make the cut and are one of the finalists contending for a commitment from the elite Class of 2025 prospect.

Zion Grady is a rising junior in high school and a remarkable athlete who is currently ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 1 edge rusher and the No. 16 overall recruit in his class.

According to MaxPreps, Grady recorded 106 tackles and 19.0 sacks during his sophomore season with Charles Henderson High School. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect also recovered three fumbles and blocked two field goals in the 2022 season while leading his team to an appearance in the Class 5A Alabama State Championship Game.

Besides the University of Louisville, the other finalists for five-star recruit Zion Grady are Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and USC. As a result, it is clear the Cards are in good company and will be battling it out for an elite recruit with some of the top college football programs in the nation.

The University of Louisville football already managed to secure a Top 25 recruiting class in the 2023 season, despite a late coaching change in December 2022 with Jeff Brohm leaving Purdue and taking over for former UofL Head Coach Scott Satterfield.

UofL Football has also managed to land plenty of high-quality recruits on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, including Georgia cornerback Marcus Washington, Georgia State wide receiver Jamari Thrash, California quarterback Jack Plummer, and Texas A&M cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew.

The Cards will now look to build on their momentum from a respectable 8-5 season in 2022 and take advantage of what the experts are considering to be the easiest schedule among Power 5 teams in 2023.

The University of Louisville Football Team kicks off their 2023 season on Sept. 1 against Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kentucky sports betting will launch just three days later on September 4, and residents will finally be able to bet on the Cards, Cats, and all their favorite college and professional sports teams.

The UofL football team has already been given the third-best odds to win the 2023 ACC Championship and will now look to meet or exceed the high expectations set for Jeff Brohm’s inaugural season as the Cardinals’ head coach.
