Louisville won its first true road game of the season last week against Indiana and now plays its second ACC game at home against Boston College.
Jack Plummer and the Cardinals offense is humming through three games, and now will face a Boston College offense that looks far more feisty with Thomas Castellanos under center. How will the Eagles new quarterback impact the point spread and over/under in this game?

Boston College vs. Louisville Key Players to Watch
Boston College
Thomas Castellanos: Castellanos has taken over as the BC signal caller and looked the part against Florida State, passing for over 300 yards while rushing for nearly 90 yards, showcasing a dynamic level of play that the Eagles didn’t have, evident in the near win against Florida State at home last week.
Louisville
Jack Plummer: The Cardinals didn’t score much against Indiana, but moved the ball well behind Plummer’s consistent passing. This season, the team is 28th in success rate on the year and seventh in EPA/Play.
Boston College vs. Louisville Prediction and Pick
This game is ripe for points as the Louisville offense has plenty of explosive playmakers with running back Jawhar Jordan and wide receiver Jamari Thrash flanking Plummer, but the BC offense looks revitalized as well.
Castellanos was making plays both as a runner and a passer against a formidable Florida State defense and the Cardinals defense does leave some to be desired so far this season, ranking just 68th in success rate this season.
I believe that Boston College’s offense may be on the upswing, meaning that the team can push this game over the total as Louisville’s offensive attack is far too explosive for BC’s secondary to keep up with.
Further, BC is last in the country in penalties with 38 through three games for an average of 111 yards per game, a brutal mark that can have the team in disadvantageous situations both on offense and defense in this one.
I’ll trust Plummer to keep the Cards offense on track, but BC may have new life with Castellanos on the field, leading me to the over in this ACC matchup.
