No. 1: Don’t underestimate and play down to the competition

Jeff Brohm knows all about the let down game, and he shouldn’t let it carry over to Louisville this season.

Louisville is 6-0 and after beating top ten Notre Dame they are likely not too pumped up and hype to play a 1-4 Pitt team on the road in a likely empty Heinz Field. However, Pitt is well coached and they have a decent enough defense to give the Cardinals fits this saturday.

Jeff Brohm won 3 games against top 5 ranked opponents at Purdue and the next week he always lost. Brohm cannot let that be the case this week against Pitt. Louisville cannot play down to the competition here, and if they do it will let down a fan base that has been as high as its been since Lamar Jackson was wearing a red uniform.

Brohm however, has been saying every week that it is a “one game season” and that the team will only look to its opponent week by week. And it has worked quite well, as the Cardinals haven’t lost a game yet.

Here is what Jeff Brohm had to say about Pitt this week at his weekly presser:

"We played in some games that have gone down to the wire and I think we’ve hung in there, so we have to expect that, you know, this week is going to be the same deal and we have to be ready to play for 60 minutes"

Louisville will be ready to play according to Brohm and in all likelihood the Panthers will be no match for this Cardinals defense. But strange things can happen in Pittsburgh, especially when Pat Narduzzi is the head football coach.
