No. 1: Make big plays in the 4th quarter, no self made mistakes

Since the beginning of the season the Cardinals have been making big plays in the 4th quarter of games. Louisville has won close games in 4th against Georgia Tech, Indiana, and NC State this season. Louisville against Pitt, ironically, made all the mistakes that they didn’t make all season long against other teams.

Plummer needs to connect with Jamari Thrash on those long throws, and not overthrow the receiver. The receivers also just had some bad drops against Pitt that are really uncharacteristic for this squad. The plays they made against Notre Dame across the stretch in the 2nd half is what they need to get back to. While it won’t be easy to do this against this Duke defense, they do have the ability to.

Plummer needs to shake off that Pitt loss and look ahead to this game, and make the good throws that are needed to win this game. Although Jordan may or may not be available, Gurrendo and Turner can make big plays, and if Jordan is out they just might do that. Duke allows around 162 rushing yards a game, which ranks 9th in the ACC this year, and Brohm should exploit that.

Louisville won’t be able to make an excessive amount of big plays against Duke, but if they secure just a few, it may be enough to win this football game.

It’ll be a huge matchup in the ACC this saturday, if Louisville can follow these keys on offense they will surely best this deadly Duke defense.
