No. 2: Jack Plummer

Jack Plummer has certainly had his critics in the Cardinal community to say the least, but he has the ability to turn the page this week against Duke. The quarterback position is always going to be a “key” position when looking at any football team, but Plummer seems to be one of the most important factors when determining if Louisville wins a football game.

Plummer has had good games and has done enough to lead Louisville to wins this year. However, in the game against Pitt, Plummer made some throws that led Louisville to lose the game. The overthrows, underthrows, and pick six in the endzone were very worrisome in that loss on the road. You could choke it up to a rainy night and bad turf, but it is still something to look at.

If Plummer can just do enough to manage the game, well then the Cardinals have a good chance in this game. However, he can’t make big mistakes in this game, because Duke is a good team and will capitalize on them. Plummer can’t throw multiple interceptions in the red zone, and has to hit the receivers in stride when Louisville needs it most. He has also played much better at home this year, and that should help him this week.

Plummer will be a big decision in how good Louisville’s offense plays this week. Against this deadly Duke defense he will be a very important player to watch.
