Louisville and Virginia Tech will face each other for sole possession of 2nd place in the ACC this saturday, and everything will be on the line for both teams

The #13 Louisville Cardinals will face the unranked Virginia Tech Hokies this saturday, and just like last week it is another huge ACC showdown. Virginia Tech is 4-4 but are 3-1 in ACC play, with their only loss being to Florida State. Louisville is 4-1 in conference play and with North Carolina falling to Georgia Tech last week, that puts the rest of the ACC with 2 losses in conference. Whichever team wins this game will have sole possession of 2nd place in the ACC, and will just get closer and closer to likely facing FSU in the ACC championship game. Of course both teams still have ACC games to play, but a win here will help greatly for either team.

Brent Key‘s Hokies are trying to prove themselves after winning 3 of 4, while the Cardinals are trying to inch closer to the CFB Playoff, and they will need to win out to even have a shot at that.

Virginia Tech has blown out all of the ACC teams they have played besides FSU. They beat Pitt by 17, Wake Forest by 17, and Syracuse by a whopping 28. The one key to take away from those games however is, they were all at home. Can the Hokies go out on the road and defeat a top 15 Cardinal team? It will remain to be seen until the game plays out on saturday.

Louisville has played very well at home in the past 2 seasons, and have only lost 1 home game in the past 2 football seasons. Brohm will have his team ready for this huge game, but if they Cardinals come out flat the Hokies will take advantage from it.

In the most important ACC game for Louisville so far this season, here’s a deeper look into the 2023 Virginia Tech Hokies.
