No. 1: Louisville has the ability to win the ACC and make the CFB Playoff

I had thoughts last week that the Cardinals might be good enough to beat Florida State in the ACC championship and possibly make the CFB Playoff, but yesterday’s win showed how good Louisville could be. The Cardinals didn’t even play a full complete game against Virginia Tech, and they still won by 31 points. That is something Cardinal fans haven’t seen since 2016.

The last time Louisville was consistently blowing out ACC teams in the same season was 2016, and Cardinal football may be getting back to that type of consistent football. The Cardinals have allowed 3 points in the past 2 games combined, and had a 57-3 point differential.

If the Cardinals keep playing this type of consistent football it will be hard to see how they don’t win out the rest of the season. While the Cardinals control the rest of their season to make the  ACC Championship, they will need some help in getting to the CFB Playoff. The Cardinal team from the start of the season is certainly different from the team we see now, but this team has proved over the past 2 weeks that they can handle adversity and can beat any team in college football.
