Louisville vs. Miami Will Decide The ACC Championship

Louisville has to do one thing to go to the ACC Championship game: Beat Miami
The Louisville Cardinals defeated the Virginia Cavaliers last Thursday to advance to 6-1 in the ACC, and all they have to do is win their next game to advance to the ACC Championship game. The Cardinals will travel to Miami for a 12:00 PM kickoff next saturday, and a berth to the ACC Championship hangs in the balance. While Louisville could still make the ACC Championship with a loss next week, it will make it a lot easier for them to just clinch a berth with a win.
The two easiest ways for the Cardinals to make the ACC Championship game is to beat Miami next week, or for North Carolina to lose to Clemson or NC State. While UNC losing either of their last 2 games is extremely possible and more likely than not, it would be a lot easier and less stressful if Louisville defeats the Hurricanes in Miami.
Miami has been a rollercoaster of a team this year, but after a close 7 point loss to #4 Florida State, they are not a team to look over. Louisville could possibly look ahead to Kentucky in 2 weeks, and then cannot look ahead here. If you lose to Miami you make it harder to go to the ACC Championship game, and if you lose, your playoff hopes will simply vanish.
With injuries piling up on both teams it will be a difficult matchup on both sides. Louisville will likely be favored, but it will a tougher matchup than you will think by just looking at Miami’s 6-4 record.
The Cardinals will have a monumental matchup in Miami this coming Saturday and they have to be on their A-game if they want any shot at winning the ACC and making the college football playoff.
