Louisville Football may benefit big from Jimbo Fisher’s firing from Texas A&M

The Louisville Cardinals had one of best recruiting classes in recent memory for the 2022 offseason, and they may be getting back a few lost pieces due to Jimbo Fisher’s firing from Texas A&M yesterday. True freshman Pierce Clarkson was near the top of the 2023 class and the only recruits that decommitted after Scott Satterfield’s firing was star wide receiver DeAndre Moore, and star running back Reuben Owens.

Clarkson put out this tweet earlier yesterday afternoon:

This could all be cryptic twitter messaging, where one word can mean a thousand different things. But Clarkson may be referring to the trio of him, Moore, and Owens. They were the main trio of commits that lead the class to be as successful as it was. With Jimbo Fisher being let go at Texas A&M and several players announcing they are transferring, it wouldn’t be surprising if Owens announced he was leaving too. Leaving to come back to Louisville would not be a big surprise either.

DeAndre Moore was also Clarkson’s star receiver at their high school St. John Bosco, so it wouldn’t be out of question if he decided to transfer out of Texas either. He has yet to even record a catch in a Longhorn uniform yet this season. If Owens decided to come to Louisville then I would imagine Moore would be soon to follow.

Nothing has been confirmed and no one has said anything with a basis of facts yet, but it is something to definitely keep an eye on. Brady Brohm, who is very well inside of Louisville football recruiting also put this out on twitter:

It is all just speculation at this point, but the original trio of Clarkson, Owens, and Moore is something that could still happen in the coming future. Louisville needs to stay focused on this season and finishing strong, but the future could be very bright in the Ville.

Thanks to Jimbo Fisher for potentially gifting the Cardinals with some very talented players.
