Louisville opens as slight road favorites over Miami ahead of next Saturday

The Louisville Cardinals will face Miami on the road in their next game this Saturday and it will be the ultimate do or die for Louisville football. If the Cardinals defeat Miami then they will secure a bid to the ACC Championship with Florida State, although if UNC loses in the next 2 weeks they can still make the ACC Championship. It will be a much easier path if Jeff Brohm and his team just win next Saturday.

Miami has fallen since the first few weeks of the season, as they have lost 2 in a row to NC State and Florida State. The Hurricanes were dominated 20-6 by the NC State Wolfpack in a game that was simply embarrassing for Miami. However, they were in a close game with FSU and nearly beat the Seminoles in Tallahassee last week. It seems to be impossible to gauge Mario Cristobal’s team, and it makes sense because they are a Mario Cristobal coached team.

Louisville currently stands as a -1.5 point favorite over Miami, and by gametime Saturday the line might even be a straight pick em. Miami has been very up and down this season, and after a very close loss to #4 FSU the oddsmakers are seemingly giving Miami a chance to win this game.

The over/under for this game is currently at 47.5, and it is likely expected to be a close low scoring game. Oddsmakers are expecting this game to be a close 24-23 victory for the Cardinals, but we will see how these numbers change by this Saturday. Miami also will have a -3 points for home field advantage, but for a 12:00 PM kick at Hard Rock Stadium, I wouldn’t expect the crowd to be too rowdy or effective.

Louisville will likely stand the favorite come Saturday, but if the Cards stay focused they could be looking at a ACC Championship game berth come Saturday afternoon.
