The Battle of the bluegrass kickoff time is set and on national television

The Louisville Cardinals defeated Miami yesterday to advance to 10-1 and clinched an ACC Championship berth, but the most important game of the season is still yet to be played.

The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off a befuddling loss to the now 5-6 South Carolina Gamecocks by a score of 17-14, and the matchup couldn’t come at a worse time for Kentucky. Louisville is riding high off 4 wins in a row, while the Wildcats have lost 5 out of their last 6 and are struggling to find a way to win games late into the season. Of course this seems to happen to Mark Stoops team every year, as they play easier teams at the beginning of the year, but once they start SEC play they start to fall apart.

Kentucky has beaten Louisville in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, with the only exception being 2020, where they didn’t play because of covid. The last time the cards beat the cats was 2017, when Lamar Jackson was on the roster and Bobby Petrino was the head coach.

The game is set for a 12:00 PM kickoff on primetime ABC. The game has mainly been on the ACCN and SECN in recent years, so it is nice to see the rivalry getting more national attention. While it might seem Kentucky got the upperhand with the kickoff being at noon, the game is already a sellout and the crowd will be into it no matter what time kickoff is, so Stoops better have his team prepared.

It will be a huge game for both teams, as Kentucky looks to salvage their season with a win over a top ten team, and Louisville looks to break a 6 year streak of losing to Kentucky and keeping their CFB Playoff hopes alive.

Only time will tell when the Cardinals and the Wildcats kickoff this saturday at noon on ABC.
