Louisville and Jeff Brohm are already heading after big transfers in 2023

The Louisville Cardinals ended their regular season at 10-2 with a loss to Kentucky and lost last Saturday to Florida State to head into bowl season with a 10-3 record. Quarterback Jack Plummer will graduate after this season, and Jeff Brohm will likely want to go after another transfer QB for the 2024 season. While Pierce Clarkson will still be on the roster as a true sophomore, Brohm and will likely want a more experienced QB.

Kyle McCord announced he was transferring out of Ohio State just a few days ago and Louisville and Jeff Brohm were mentioned as a possible place McCord could end up transferring to.

Another name that has been revolving around the Louisville football program is transfer QB Dj Uiagalelei. Uiagalelei started his career at Clemson, but transferred out last season and spent the 2023 season with Oregon State. He threw for 2,638 yards, 21 touchdown, 7 interceptions, while completing 57.1% of his passes. He also had 6 TDs and 219 yards on the ground this season as well.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN Florida State and Louisville have emerged as frontrunners for DJ Uiagalelei, and while Mississippi State have also shown interest, it looks to be between The Cardinals and the Seminoles right now. No visits have been officially scheduled, but if Jeff Brohm is also to land him it would be a big pickup for the program.

Even if Brohm is unable to land Uiagalelei they still have a lot of options available, Pierce Clarkson is still on roster, and is a player a lot of Louisville fans want to see in action next season.

While former Oregon and Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough will be going on an official visit to the Cardinals very soon. Shough was hurt throughout his career and before injuries he was touted as a possible NFL prospect.

Brohm and Louisville have their options open, and things are just getting started for the Cardinals.
