Louisville football recently earned two commitments, including its next starting quarterback, Lincoln Kienholz. The Ohio State transfer committed to Louisville late Saturday night after the quarterback took an official visit to Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals.
Louisville lost its top four quarterbacks from 2025, including three to the Transfer Portal. So, entering Jan. 2 when the portal opened, the quarterback position was priority No. 1 for Brohm and Louisville. Kienholz has earned high praise from Ohio State fans and comes in with high expectations entering the 2026 season, having been a top-100 portal commit and the 16th-best quarterback.
Now that the Cardinals have their QB1 for the 2026 season, they must pivot and focus on other crucial positions. Getting a quarterback in Kienholz allows Louisville to save a lot of money compared to if they were going to go get Josh Hoover or DJ Lagway.
So, with Louisville getting its quarterback, here are three positions Louisville football must target in the portal after landing Lincoln Kienholz.
