The Transfer Portal is now closed as the deadline for entries was midnight on Friday, January 16. College football fans will still see some players enter the Transfer Portal, but that is because schools have 48 hours to process the players' paperwork. With it being a weekend and a holiday on Monday, that means some schools have until Wednesday, January 21.
Louisville football fans have already learned this the hard way when Murray State transfer Dylan Rowsey re-entered the Transfer Portal early Saturday morning. Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow lost a key asset to their secondary, as Rowsey is a tackle machine who is coming off a dominant season in which he logged the fourth-most tackles in FCS with 139 total tackles and the most solo tackles in Division I with 89.
Louisville fans are hoping they don’t have to panic, and that is the last player to announce he is flipping as the Cardinals' offseason has been near perfect. The Cardinals kept their offensive stars in Isaac Brown and Keyjuan Brown, while adding Lincoln Kienholz, Tre Richardson, and Lawayne McCoy. And on defense, they kept the core together in Clev Lubin, AJ Green, Stanquan Clar, TJ Capers, and Antonio Watts, while adding Tyler Thompson, Jerod Smith, and Koen Entringer.
Louisville has seen 29 players enter the Transfer Portal and has added 29 players through it. The Cardinals fans are all-in, but they do still have some work to do. So, here are three areas of need Jeff Brohm must address for Louisville with the Transfer Portal closed.
