The Kentucky Wildcats were the favorites to land Ament in September 2024, as the Wildcats made their official offer to the power forward in June 2024. However, On3's prediction of the Wildcats has fallen so low since then that they are not even ranked. However, On3 hasn't updated those rankings since December 2024, which implies that many things have changed since. Rivals gives the Wildcats the best chance to land Ament at 28.9 percent. Their prediction was updated this month.

Kentucky landed in Ament's top five schools in February after the 5-star recruit visited the Wildcats campus earlier in the year. Ament was seen on the Wildcats campus for his official visit precisely two weeks before his top-five school's announcement.

In announcing the top five schools, Ament briefly discussed Coach Mark Pope and the Kentucky program.

"Coach Pope, high character coach, not just talking about X's and O's but as a person, he's a high character guy, and that's something you like to see as a player. Also, his offense is one of the best in the nation; he gets up and down the floor. He shoots the threes well, and seeing that as a versatile player who does all those things is very tempting."

Kentucky is ranked No. 5 in the nation for their three commits in the class of 2025. They are also ranked No. 2 in the SEC, as they have landed three four stars in the class of 2025 and just landed an elite transfer portal player in Kam Williams.

The Cardinals rival are a big threat to steal Ament, but as of recent trends it seems Louisville are slight favorites to land Ament over the Wildcats.
