Louisville finds its rhythm beyond the arc
Louisville’s love affair with the three-point shot remains well documented. The Cardinals shoot threes at the highest rate in the country, with a staggering 54% of their attempts coming from beyond the arc. They average 11.5 made threes on 33.4 attempts per game. Even without elite efficiency, Pat Kelsey continues to embrace the “more is more” philosophy—the more you shoot, the more you make.
Will Wade shares a similar offensive mindset. NC State averages 11 made threes per game on 27 attempts. While the Wolfpack still takes more twos than threes—unlike Louisville—their willingness to shoot from deep is a key component of their scoring identity.
If both teams are already averaging 11 made threes per game, reaching 30 combined isn’t far-fetched—especially in a game where tempo should be high and shots will come early in possessions. Neither team is interested in waiting for the perfect shot; a good look from three is usually enough.
With NC State allowing nine 3-pointers per game, which ranks No. 308 in the nation, the Cardinals have to find their shot early on if they want to pull off this marquee win.
