1. J'Vonne Hadley
This should go without saying, but the Cardinals must find a way to bring in massive recruits while keeping J'Vonne Hadley. Louisville's leading rebounder last season, at just 6-foot-6, not only averaged 7.1 rebounds per game last year but was also a dominant scorer and an elite defender.
In his first year with Louisville, the Colorado transfer averaged 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 51.8 percent from the floor and 38.1 percent from the 3-point line. The Cardinals guard was able to play up in the lineup and play more of a small forward as he has the strength to guard anyone on the court.
He showed tremendous potential last season under Kelsey and proved he is Louisville's glaring X-factor. He must be a key piece to this program if they want to be successful next season. The Cardinals are in contact with elite shooters from all over the nation, and Hadley's ability to score at will but lock the opponent's best player down makes him a crucial piece for next season.
Hadley scored 20 or more in three games last season, including his career-high 32-point performance against Clemson. The Cardinals guard showed flashes of elite scoring last season, as he has the strength to either post up or back his defender down. Louisville needs to address the defense in the transfer portal, and Hadley must stay on this team for his ability to defend and score.
He is an elite two-way player and has the potential to elevate his game even more next season, playing alongside Mikel Brown Jr. and an elite shooting guard.
For all the latest on Louisville basketball's offseason, stay tuned.
