3. Jardin Gilbert

Louisville football was reportedly in the mix for LSU transfer Jardin Gilbert, but on Monday, the Cardinals lost to Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs earned the former 4-star recruit's commitment. The Cardinals were in a recruiting battle with UCLA, Florida State, Arkansas, and the Bulldogs for Gilbert, as Louisville needs depth in its secondary, and Gilbert would have been a big-time addition for Brohm’s Cardinals.

The former Texas A&M commit was a unanimous 4-star recruit out of high school after he ranked No. 168 in the nation and was the No. 7-ranked safety in the 2021 recruiting class. He was heavily recruited after earning 27 offers, including from Louisville, Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, and others. He played in 25 games for the Aggies, starting 12, but transferred to LSU, where he has played his last two seasons.

In his collegiate career, he has recorded 142 tackles, eight pass deflections, three interceptions, and one forced fumble, including a career-high 61 tackles, four pass deflections, and two interceptions in 2022. He is now a Mississippi State Bulldog after committing to Jeff Lebby over Jeff Brohm and Louisville as the No. 343 transfer and the No. 27-ranked safety in the Transfer Portal.
