Louisville basketball will lose many key players this offseason. The Cardinals are likely to lose four of their starting five, including Isaac McKneely and J’Vonne Hadley, who were key pieces for Pat Kelsey the past two seasons.

4 Louisville Cardinals on Transfer Watch after NCAA Tournament exit

Hadley will be hard to replace as the former Colorado transfer emerged as a fan favorite. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound forward transferred in as a shooting guard, but quickly moved to the forward position and was someone Louisville could consistently rely on. While McKneely spent just one season, he played the small forward role, where he was Louisville’s knockdown shooter.

While McKneely was crucial this year, Louisville needs to go get a wing who can be that next slasher for Kelsey. Someone like Hadley, who was able to attack the rim and get an easy bucket, but play physical. Hadley went on to average 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 41.1 percent from downtown in his two years for Louisville.

The Cardinals will have to find a new wing who could be Louisville’s next small forward, and with Louisville wanting some height and more physical presence, here are three early transfer portal targets Louisville basketball must pursue at the wing position.
