Jackson Shelstad

The first transfer Louisville basketball learned it will host is the former 5-star and Oregon transfer, Jackson Shelstad. Yesterday, the Cards learned that Mikel Brown Jr. will officially declare for the NBA Draft, and with Louisville losing its former 5-star point guard, Pat Kelsey, they wasted no time landing a huge visit from Shelstad.

Louisville wastes no time landing a huge visit from perfect Mikel Brown Jr. replacement

The Oregon transfer was ranked No. 6 among point guards and No. 24 overall in the 2023 recruiting class. He had an eye-popping true freshman season after making the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. He averaged 12.8 points while shooting 45 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from downtown. He then continued to increase his production, and in his junior season, while it was cut short by an injury, he was trending toward being one of the best guards in the Big 10.

He averaged 15.6 points after scoring 20 points or more in five games and added 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. He will visit Louisville this Friday and now ranks as high as No. 8 overall in the portal and No.2 among point guards.
