Louisville basketball earned its first commitment of the 2027 recruiting class last night. Louisville native and 3-star power forward Ferlandes Wright committed to the Cards last night, earning the Cardinals' first high school commitment for both the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes. Wright is a dominant two-way player who averaged 18.0 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game last season and will now play for the elite La Lumiere School.

Louisville hasn't had much luck with the 2026 recruiting class, but the 2027 recruiting class is off to a red-hot start. Wright is a top 150 recruit in the class and has plenty of time to skyrocket up those rankings. He is going to get tremendous exposure now that he has transferred to La Lumiere, meaning he will not only have opportunities to rise in the rankings but also build relationships with other elite recruits.

So, with Wright now officially a Cardinal, he will draw attention to the Louisville basketball team and might help Louisville land some future 2027 recruits. Here are three game-changing players who could follow Ferlandes Wright to the Louisville Cardinals.
