2. Virginia's struggles on the road

Virginia enters this matchup 4-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming on the road against North Carolina State. Since Tony Elliot took over as Virginia football's head coach in December 2021, the Cavaliers have a depressing 5-11 record on the road. Last year, in the Cavaliers' three road losses, they lost by an average of 19.3 points, and on the road, they gave up 32.2 points per game.

The Cavaliers struggle on the road, and against good teams, they struggle even more. They have a couple of noteworthy road wins, as last year they beat No. 18 Pitt at the time, but the Panthers lost six straight to end the season and were unranked by the end of the season as they finished 7-6. Their other win was over North Carolina, which, similar to Pitt, was ranked No. 10 at the time, but fell five of their last seven and was unranked by the end of the season.

UVA has struggled to show up on the road against good teams, and with the Cavaliers being 0-2 against the Cardinals since Brohm took over, it is poised to be another challenging matchup for Elliot's Cavaliers.
