1. Rodney Johnson Jr.
The transfer who is having the biggest impact so far is cornerback transfer Rodney Johnson Jr. Brohm. After the third scrimmage, it became clear that the Cardinals' secondary is improving, and they are making improvements in not allowing the ball to be thrown over their heads, and Johnson is a big reason why.
The star cornerback from Southern University made an immediate impact for the Cardinals back in the Spring Game when he secured the only interception in the game. Since he has proven time and time again that he is poised to have a breakout season, as he did last year, and be the Cardinals' star cornerback.
Last season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, Johnson logged 35 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, and one interception. While the jump to the ACC is going to be challenging, Brohm and English have made it clear that Johnson is trending in the right direction. Louisville fans have heard a lot about the 6-foot-2, 200-pound transfer, but now he must transition it to the games.
