3. Braxton Jennings
Louisville football has a few people on transfer watch in the final days with the portal open, but one the Cardinals fans could see is the 2025 MVP of the Governor’s Cup, Braxton Jennings. The walk-on freshman showed he can be a legit contributor for a Division I football team, and with the Cardinals adding 4-star transfer and freshman running back Marquise Davis from the portal and 2026 commitment Lekhy Thompkins, Jennings doesn’t have much of a path to play now or in the future.
Jennings took full advantage of Louisville’s injury bug last season, as with Isaac Brown, Duke Watson, and Keyjuan Brown out for the final game of the season, Jennings stepped up and ran 113 yards on 20 carries in Louisville’s dominant win over Kentucky. He finished the season with 37 carries for 200 yards and one touchdown.
Jennings could be looking to carry that momentum into 2026, and with Isaac, Marquise, and Lekhy likely all in front of him in the depth chart, Jennings might be looking to try to earn more snaps and carries for another team.
