2. Contain Isaiah Evans
Freshman forward Cameron Boozer is Duke’s superstar, and for good reason. He is averaging 23 points and 9.8 rebounds per game and has lived up to the hype as the son of former Duke national champion Carlos Boozer. Boozer is the player everyone talks about, and it is almost a given that he will get his numbers Tuesday night. When you’re facing the best player on the floor, the hope is either an off night or foul trouble—because otherwise, he will be a force.
That brings us to sophomore guard Isaiah Evans.
After playing more of a supporting role last season, Evans has come into his own and played a major role in Duke’s 2–0 ACC start. He has scored at least 13 points in four of his last six games. The one game in that stretch where he struggled, Duke lost.
Against Texas Tech, Evans played 30 minutes but went just 1-for-4 from the field, finishing with four points and one assist. Even with Boozer posting 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, Duke still fell short. Without a reliable second scoring option, the Blue Devils could not keep up offensively.
If Louisville can limit Evans to single digits, the Cards may have a chance—regardless of what Boozer does.
