3. Louisville backfield availability

How healthy are the two running backs for Louisville football? This will be a key to watch in this game. The Cardinals have two special talents in the backfield, but how much will they get to use them? Star Isaac Brown practically missed their game against Bowling Green, and Brown was questionable all week leading up to the game against Pitt. Luckily for them, he was able to give it a go last weekend, but he was limited to getting just 50 percent of the carries on the day. With the Cardinals going down by 17 in the first quarter, they were forced to go away from the ground game, so who knows how many carries Brown could have gotten if they were not digging themselves out of a hole.

Duke Watson also missed the Bowling Green game with a lower leg injury. Watson was questionable all week, along with his partner. He was willing to give it a try, but it didn't go as planned. Watson went down in the second quarter after a short run. The back was on the field for a few minutes after the play before limping to the sidelines. Thankfully, he came back in the second half but only got three carries after his return. Watson got the other 50 percent of the touches. This resulted in both backs getting 14 carries each.

Miller Moss came in clutch last week, but he had to throw over 50 times. It is hard to imagine the Cardinals want to use him that much with how explosive this backfield is. The availability of the Cardinal backfield will be a key factor to watch.
