Jackson Shelstad
Last year, Pat Kelsey showed Louisville can be a top destination when he landed elite transfers in Adrian Wooley, Ryan Conwell, and Isaac McKneely. Now, with Brown gone, the Cardinals are reportedly a team to keep an eye on with former 5-star recruit Jackson Shelstad.
The Oregon transfer is one of the top point guards in the Transfer Portal, and while it won’t be an easy addition for Louisville with Arizona also in the mix, the Cards are a team On3 Sports reported to watch out for. The 4-star transfer is a former 5-star recruit who ranked as high as No. 6 among point guards and No. 24 overall in the 2023 recruiting class.
Louisville fans have made it clear that the only way to replace Brown is with a 5-star point guard, and Shelstad emerges as a potential dream replacement. The 4-star transfer did sustain an injury last season, which forced him to play just 12 games, but he scored 20 or more points in five of those games and averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. Shelstad now ranks No. 8 overall and No. 2 among point guards.
