1. PF Kanon Catchings - BYU

2024-25 Statistics: 34 G, 7.2 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 0.7 APG, 2.3 SPG, 41.1% FG, 1.4 3PM, 35.0% 3PT

Kanon Catchings has the highest potential on this list as the true freshman was a unanimous 4-star prospect coming out of high school. Catchings is transferring out of BYU after one season and is now a 4-star prospect in the portal and ranked in 247Sports top 50 players to enter the portal.

The 6-foot-9 forward was ranked No. 41 overall out of high school and the No. 8 best forward in his respected class. He will now look for a new team after averaging 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 3-pointers per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 35 percent from downtown. The Cardinals have not reached out to Catchings yet, but Kelsey and his staff should contact this stretch forward immediately.

He is exactly the player fans are asking for, as he can shoot from beyond the arc and bring much-needed height to the Cardinals' forward position. Catchings would space the floor and be just enough of a threat on the offense that the defense would have to worry about him. The 4-star prospect not only would help the Cardinals out this year, but with him just being a future, he would be a great piece to play with Wooley moving forward.

Louisville needs Catchings' length on both ends of the floor, and his potential is exactly what Kelsey wants. He is someone Kelsey can develop and have for the future, but he is also someone who can be the Cardinals' missing piece next season for their National Championship quest.
