3. Louisville’s 3-point shooting
It is no secret that Louisville lives and dies from beyond the arc. The Cards shoot the fourth-most three-pointers per game, averaging just over 32. However, they rank No. 79 in the nation for their 3-point percentage at 35.7 percent.
The Cardinals have to get hot from beyond the arc, and they will need more from players like Isaac McKneely, who struggles immensely in games against good teams. The Cardinals continue to shoot cold from downtown against good teams, but if they want to go on any sort of a run, Louisville has to find a way to make around 12-15 3’s per game.
The Cardinals aren’t a team that will beat a ranked opponent playing bully ball in the paint, and to win, they must get hot from downtown. Players like Ryan Conwell, McKneely, Adrian Wooley, and hopefully Mikel Brown Jr. have to hit open shots and have to do it at a high rate.
