1. A lockdown defensive back
The biggest concern entering the 2025 season is the Cardinals' secondary, specifically their defensive backs. Louisville corners put on a solid performance on Friday night in the Spring Game, but if Brohm can go out and land that difference maker or an elite CB1 for this defense, everyone would feel much more confident.
Louisville lost their top four of five defensive backs last year, as all either hit the transfer portal or declared for the NFL Draft. The Cardinals starting secondary had Rodney Johnson and Rae'mon Mosby starting in the cornerback position, and D'Angelo Hutchinson and Jojo Evans as the starting safeties. Johnson picked off Moss in the Spring Game, and the group showed flashes of potential.
However, Louisville needs that difference maker on the defensive side in their secondary. The Cardinals are going up against elite offenses in Clemson, Miami, and SMU next year, and if the Cardinals want to try and compete for the ACC crown, they must land a 4 or 5-star prospect from the transfer portal.
