4. Cut down on turnovers
Louisville currently ranks 10th in the ACC in turnovers per game and 116th nationally at 11.4 per contest. They trail teams like Duke, Virginia, UNC, and NC State—programs expected to finish in the top half of the league.
Some turnovers are inevitable given Louisville’s fast, free-flowing style. The hope is that strong shooting can offset those mistakes. Problems arise when the shots aren’t falling, and turnovers begin to pile up.
That was especially evident against Tennessee, when Louisville struggled offensively, turned the ball over, and then began playing slowly and hesitantly. That combination led to three shot-clock violations—something that should never happen to a team that thrives on quick decisions and spacing.
With the way Louisville shoots the ball, wasting 30 seconds without getting a shot off can’t happen. Cleaning up turnovers would immediately raise this team’s floor.
