4. Can Louisville avoid a letdown performance?

Louisville has a history of falling for trap games on the road like this after big wins. In 2023, the Cardinals were coming off a major high after beating the No. 10 team in the nation, Notre Dame. The Cardinals were 3-0 in ACC play, and it looked like they had hopes for an ACC championship.

Then came Pittsburgh. No.14 Louisville was taking on unranked Pittsburgh on the road. Nothing could go wrong, right? Well, after two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and a pick-six from the Panthers, the Cardinals found themselves the losers of a 38-21 bout.

Now, the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals find themselves heading into unranked Virginia Tech, with their ACC hopes still alive. Hopefully, the Cardinals have learned from the past that anything can happen, and they must be ready for anything. I believe the Cardinals will be ready for this trap game, and they’ll continue their ACC hopes.
