Louisville losing AJ Green puts a ton of pressure on the Cards to keep their best defensive player in 2025, Clev Lubin. The Coastal Carolina transfer was dominant all season and was the star of the show on the defensive side of the ball for this year's Louisville team.

Louisville must avoid a disastrous situation of losing both Green and Lubin, as those two key players combine for 12.5 sacks. Losing Green was a gut-punch, but losing Lubin would be heartbreaking. Lubin had a team-high 8.5 sacks and was fourth on the team with 59 tackles and sixth on the team with three pass deflections.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound junior is set to be Louisville's best defender next season, making it crucial Brohm keeps him around for his final season. Lubin is likely to play in the NFL at some point, but fans hope to see him suit up for one final season at Louisville in 2026.
