4. TJ Capers - LB

Someone that Louisville fans have been keeping an eye on all offseason is former 5-star commit TJ Capers. The Cardinals are hoping to pair Capers up with Antonio Watts and Stanquan Clark, but it all depends on the 5-star's decision.

Last year in the spring window, Capers announced he would enter the portal but ultimately did something similar to Brown and returned for his third season. With the former 5-star hoping to earn more reps, he became a key piece on this defense, securing 46 tackles, including a career-high eight tackles against SMU, one pass deflection, and his game-sealing interception against Miami.

Louisville has heard from Clev Lubin and Antonio Watts, but has yet to hear from Capers on whether he plans to return. With the Cardinals likely giving Brown and Watts raises, the question is whether Capers will try to get a raise and test the Transfer Portal. Louisville hopes Capers returns as having Capers, Watts, and Clark back would instantly make this linebacker room one of the most veteran groups in the nation.
