5. Louisville's defense is not the issue
This Cardinals defense is legit. Despite the final score, this defense put up an excellent performance. The Cavaliers finished the game with just 237 yards, including just 130 passing yards and 107 rushing yards. Louisville's offense gave up two turnovers, which resulted in touchdowns for the Cavaliers, while the Cardinals' defense did exactly what it was supposed to do.
Chandler Morris and this offense struggled to get anything going, as the defense swarmed the Cavaliers' offense all afternoon. The defense is the only reason this game was as close as it was, and the reality is the Cardinals should have won if it wasn't for the offense's mistakes.
TJ Quinn and this unit shut down Virginia's offense for the entire game, limiting them to just 16 points. This defense against Miami's offense is going to be a fun showdown in Week 8, as the Cardinals' defense continues to impress. Louisville has some areas of concern that are growing after this loss, but the defense is not one of them.
