Louisville football has only its bowl game left until it will be officially done with the 2025-26 season. With this will come a very important offseason, as the Cardinals were just a couple of possessions away from truly competing in the ACC.

This means the Cardinals will have to go all in when the Transfer portal opens. Now, many players decide to hop in the portal every year, but one offseason debacle has now opened up the door for many more players to become future Cardinals.

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was fired on Dec. 10, leaving the Wolverines and their players' futures up in the air. This now means the opportunity for most of the Michigan team to jump in the portal is significantly higher. There are numerous Wolverines who could help the Cardinals win next year. Let’s take a look at five Michigan players Louisville should target after the firing of its head coach.

5. Cole Sullivan

Cole Sullivan would bring a presence to the linebacker core that the Louisville defense would definitely appreciate. The sophomore had 37 total tackles to finish top five on the team. Sullivan didn’t just perform in the second level, though, as he also had two sacks on the season for the Wolverines.

As great as Sullivan’s tackling numbers are, the linebacker was also a problem for teams throwing the ball. Sullivan had the most interceptions on the team this past year for Michigan, as he tallied three over the season. The young linebacker had a knack for finding the football and would be a solid addition to the Louisville defense.

The Cardinals can’t afford to lack in attempts to grab great young talent in the portal. The Michigan linebacker who can do it all should be one of the Cardinals' top priorities this offseason.
