3. Ryan Conwell
Ryan Conwell is one of Pat Kelsey's newcomers, and in many projected starting lineups for the Cardinals, Conwell is seen starting in the small forward position. Hadley returning will help Conwell out a lot next season, as having a certified small forward to back the Xavier transfer will allow him to play freely on the court, knowing he can trust his backup.
Having a veteran player who is reliable off the bench coming in to sub Conwell is going to be a sigh of relief for the Cardinals nation and Conwell. Louisville is expected to run a three-guard lineup in Brown, Wooley, and Conwell, and when Louisville needs some height, they now have the option to bring Hadley on the floor. The fifth-year senior should provide great minutes when Conwell needs a breather and should help him get adjusted to the culture and Kelsey's style of play.
It is clear that with Hadley returning, he is all-in on helping Louisville win a National Championship, even if that means coming off the bench. He might play some stretch four minutes, but a key role for Hadley next season will be to teach Conwell the small forward position. Conwell is 6-foot-4 and is used to playing the shooting guard position. Louisville will have to have some growing pains in moving Conwell to the small forward position. Still, with Hadley's veteran leadership and experience, Conwell should be in excellent hands.
