2. Clev Lubin (DL)

Defensive lineman Clev Lubin has been one of the most impactful pieces of Louisville’s front, and this matchup presents a chance for him to take over. With already 3.5 sacks on the season, Lubin’s ability to win one-on-one battles on the edge could disrupt their rhythm early. An intense pass rush is exactly what Louisville needs to limit Virginia’s ability to stretch the field through the air. In a game where forcing even just one punt could be a significant factor, causing a negative play would be huge. Whether in the pass rush or stopping their run game, Lubin will have chances to cause a disruption.

The Cardinals’ defensive line has battled injuries and depth questions, making Lubin’s production even more important. He had 9.5 sacks last year at Coastal Carolina before transferring to Louisville, so you know he loves getting after the opposing quarterback. If he can generate pressure without needing constant blitz help, it allows Ron English to keep more defenders back in coverage. A disruptive performance from Lubin could tilt the field and give Louisville’s offense more favorable possessions, making him one of the most important players to watch on Saturday.
