D'Angelo Hutchinson - DB
Quinn is an anchor in himself, but D’Angelo Hutchinson is the key to the secondary. The secondary has been tremendous this season for the Louisville football team. They just held Chandler Morris and UVA to their lowest completion percentage of the season. Morris was also limited to his lowest passing yard total all year. Hutchinson and the secondary have allowed more than 200 passing yards only once, and in that game, the defense forced two turnovers.
Just like Quinn, Hutchinson is a massive part of the defense’s success. He leads the team in tackles and has an interception. Hutchinson has his teammates attacking every ball in the air and blanketing opposing receivers. His leadership has helped turn this unit into one of the most disciplined secondaries in the ACC.
Hutchinson is no stranger to being around the ball. He totaled 52 tackles last season and is on pace to shatter that mark. He’s quickly becoming one of the best tackling defensive backs in the ACC. Hutchinson is one of the reasons this Cardinals team carried so much hype coming into the season. After not playing much his first two years, the senior defensive back stayed patient and has broken out after being given the opportunity.
