Louisville football’s 2026 offseason has positioned this team to contend in the ACC next season, not only to win the program's first ACC Title but also to make their first College Football Playoff. The Cards' offseason ranks No. 5 in the country per On3 Sports, and Jeff Brohm has this roster ranked as high as No. 14 in ESPN’s way-too-early rankings.

That said, Louisville fans saw 29 players enter the 2026 Transfer Portal, and 20 of them have already found new homes. With us covering where the first 15 Louisville transfers committed, let's break down where the latest five former Cardinals committed over the past few days.

1. Mason Mims | QB | East Tennessee State

Louisville lost multiple quarterbacks to the Transfer Portal, including true freshman Mason Mims. The former Cardinal committed to Louisville as a 3-star recruit, ranked No. 728 overall and No. 37 among quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class.

He recently joined Xavier Porter at East Tennessee State, as both former Cardinals committed to the Buccaneers this offseason. Mims earned high praise from Jeff Brohm entering the 2025 season, as he was part of the mix for the QB2 spot. Mims didn’t log any stats his true freshman season and committed to East Tennessee State, ranked 1,709 overall and No. 101 among quarterbacks.

2. Antonio Meeks | WR | Wake Forest

One of the biggest areas Louisville had to address this offseason was the wide receiver position, and one of the Cardinals' key wide receiver losses to the Transfer Portal was Antonio Meeks. The former Cardinal logged 20 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns during his time with Louisville, including last season, when he earned 17 receptions for 189 yards and one touchdown.

Meeks decided to stay in the ACC after recently committing to Wake Forest after his best season with Louisville. He is ranked as high as No. 987 overall and No. 164 among wide receivers in the Transfer Portal.

3. Fred Johnson | OL | UConn

Louisville football lost five offensive linemen, including a former 3-star recruit from their 2024 recruiting class, Fred Johnson. The former Cardinal was ranked as high as No. 928 and No. 64 among interior offensive linemen in the 2024 class. He committed to Louisville over many Power Five programs, including Kentucky, Pitt, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee.

He entered the portal and recently committed to UConn after being ranked No. 2488 overall and No. 204 among interior offensive linemen in the Transfer Portal.

4. CJ May | EDGE | Missouri

Louisville’s defensive line added key pieces like Tyler Thompson and kept stars Clev Lubin and AJ Green. Unfortunately, that led to former 4-star commitment CJ May from the 2025 recruiting class to hit the Transfer Portal. May committed to Louisville after being recruited by big-time programs like Penn State, Notre Dame, Clemson, and others, ranking No. 487 overall and No. 44 among edge rushers.

He recently committed to the Missouri Tigers, where he will have four years of eligibility left after not playing in a single game for Louisville in 2025. May ranks No. 945 overall and is ranked No. 105 in the edge rusher position.

5. Jordan Church | OL | Texas Tech

Louisville’s biggest blow this offseason was losing projected starter Jordan Church. The Cardinals are in good shape with their offensive line after bringing in multiple linemen via the Transfer Portal, but losing Church definitely hurt. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman recently committed to Texas Tech after he was ranked No. 111 overall and No. 6 among interior offensive linemen.

Church logged 514 snaps in the 2025 season for Louisville, including 286 pass block snaps. The former Cardinal only allowed one sack and 12 total pressures. Before his time with Louisville, he played for Florida Atlantic, where he allowed just 3 sacks on 739 snaps.
