Cal's poor rushing attack
The rushing attack that Cal has displayed this year has not been pretty. With how good the passing defense has been for Louisville football this season, you have to run the ball to beat them. Not having a good run game will come back to bite the Golden Bears.
Starting running back Kendrick Raphael has only eclipsed 85 rushing yards twice this season, and his yards per carry have been under four yards in the last four games. The poor rushing attack will often set them behind the chains, which is precisely what Louisville football wants.
Quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has had a solid season with 2,195 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. His two blemishes on his record are nine interceptions and 21 total sacks. Fifteen of those sacks have come in their past four games. The lack of a running game will force Sagapolutele to throw the ball, and guys like Clev Lubin and Wesley Bailey will have their ears pinned back, ready to pounce on the quarterback.
