D-line will go nuts
Back to the point that Sagapolutele gets pressured a lot, this Cardinals defensive line is about to go nuclear. The defense will have a great chance to record the most sacks in a game this season. After playing a quarterback who likes to run last week, in Kyron Drones, the D-line could never get its hands on him. This week will be different.
The Cardinals’ defensive line wreaked havoc in the first few weeks of the season, and this game is set up to get them back on track. Lubin and Bailey each have four sacks on the season and could very well improve that total. Three different linebackers, Antonio Watts, Trent Carter and T.J. Quinn, have also gotten in on the action this year.
With the combination of Cal’s weak offensive line and poor run game, the Louisville football defense is licking its chops. This could get the defensive line back on track and set them up for the end of the season in a positive manner. Sagapolutele has not been comfortable in the pocket in weeks, and with this defensive front, expect that trend to continue.
