Louisville basketball received unfortunate news Wednesday morning as the No. 31 player in the transfer portal, Brock Harding, chose the TCU Horned Frogs over the Louisville Cardinals.

Louisville secured a spot in Harding's final three schools last week. The Cardinals have recruited this elite playmaker early once he entered the portal, but this seems insufficient. The Cardinals have contacted multiple point guards in this portal and should have various other options to replace their former point guard, Chucky Hepburn.

So, after hearing the unfortunate news, we thought we would list the top five best point guards in the transfer portal after Brock Harding announced his commitment to the TCU Horned Frogs.

5. Dedan Thomas

After his impressive sophomore campaign, the UNLV transfer guard is ranked as the No. 5 best point guard in the transfer portal. Dedan Thomas quickly became one of the best point guards in the nation last year, as with the Rebels, he displayed elite scoring and ball-handling skills.

Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting 41.3 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from beyond the arc. He showcased his playmaking skills throughout the season, scoring 20 points or more in five games, including his season-high three 22-point performances.

The point guard's ability to attack is glaring. He can drive to the rim at will due to his ability to utilize his speed and blow by his defenders. He has a high IQ for the game of basketball and trusts his playmaking abilities.

Kelsey and his staff should consider this elite 6-foot-1 point guard transfer from UNLV and go to the film room to watch his impressive offensive skills.
