4. Nick Boyd
Nick Boyd is a transfer out of San Diego State and is ranked as the No. 4 best point guard in the transfer portal. The former Aztecs point guard helped lead San Diego State to an impressive 2024-25 season and earned a spot in the First Four play-in games for the NCAA Tournament.
Boyd averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from the 3-point line. A key aspect he would bring to Kelsey and his Cardinals is consistency from beyond the arc. He has shot around 37 percent in his four years and has made 178 threes, including 65 from his 2024-25 season with San Diego State.
He is one of the top scorers in the transfer portal. He plays at his speed and pace and has the patience to dominate his defender. He will bring gritty veteran leadership and experience, as he played for Florida Atlantic during their Final Four run a few years back.
Boyd started every game last season and scored a career-high 24 points against Boise State. This elite point guard would bring the experience Kelsey wants, along with the ability to score at will.
