3. Desmond Reid's uncertainty
Pitt's offense is led by their superstar Desmond Reid, and without him, they showed against West Virginia that they have a hard time generating drives that lead to points. Reid rushed six times for 30 yards, but after suffering a lower-body injury against the Mountaineers early on in the rivalry showdown, he was sidelined for the remainder of the game and is listed as questionable heading into Week 5.
The rumor is that many believe he won't be ready to play, and the Panthers will have to lean on Juelz Goff. However, even if Reid does play, he won't be the same player he usually is, and this Cardinals defense will likely dominate the Panthers' rushing attack.
It wouldn't be shocking if the Panthers try to use him as a decoy Saturday, or limit him, but this Cardinals defense is poised to dominate Reid and the Panthers' rushing attack just like last season. Last year, Reid ran the ball 19 times for just 59 yards, and the entire offense managed only 75 yards on the ground. TJ Quinn and this linebacker unit are due for another breakout game against Pitt, and will be key to stopping the run game.
