The Transfer Portal is officially open, and Louisville football fans saw their star running back, Isaac Brown, enter the portal. The former Cardinal was a dominant tailback for the Cardinals in his first two seasons, averaging 7.7 yards per carry and earning Freshman All-American honors and the ACC Rookie of the Year award.

The Cardinals have lost three of their four top running backs so far, as Shaun Boykins and Duke Watson also entered the portal. So, with Louisville losing three running backs, the Cardinals might want to consider adding an under-the-radar running back from the portal to provide depth and experience. Louisville fans are all-in for trying to keep Keyjuan Brown and Braxton Jennings, as their asking price won't be nearly as high as what Isaac's was, but as the fans saw last year, injuries happen, and grabbing a veteran tailback to play with Brown might be a smart move.

So, that said, here are five under-the-radar RBs Louisville must target after Isaac Brown enters the portal.

5. Cam Edwards - UConn

UConn transfer Cam Edwards entered the portal after spending his first four seasons with the Huskies. Edwards is ranked as the No. 428 best player in the portal and is the 42nd best running back after his breakout season with UConn. He has earned 480 carries and logged 2,690 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns through his years with UConn, and now emerges as an under-the-radar RB in the portal.

Last season, Edwards was the top player for the Huskies after he logged a career high 210 carries for 1,240 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. He has ACC experience, having played against Syracuse, Boston College and Duke last season, where he carried 48 times for 183 rushing yards and one touchdown.

He ran for over 100 yards in six games last year, including his dominant performance against Ball State, where he ran 24 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns. If Louisville can keep Keyjuan and make him the starter, adding Edwards would provide an experienced running back who can give Brohm the 1-2 punch Isaac and Duke provided in 2024, while also saving a lot of money.
