1. Wayne Knight - JMU
Someone with the experience Louisville is looking for is JMU transfer Wayne Knight. The James Madison transfer is not only a redshirt senior but also has College Football Playoff experience and is coming off his best season. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry last season for the Dukes, as well as rushing 207 times for 1,373 rushing yards. He added 10 total touchdowns as well, including nine on the ground.
Against Louisville, he logged five rushes for 12 yards, but after that game, he began to be JMU's No. 1 back. He rushed for 80 yards or more in 11 of their 14 games, including five games where he rushed for 100 yards or more. He had multiple notable performances, but the two that stand out are his 21 rushes for 212 yards and one touchdown against Troy, along with his 17 rushes for 110 rushing yards against Oregon in the first round of the CFP.
He is ranked as the No. 23 best running back in the Transfer Portal, and the No. 236 overall transfer in the portal. If Louisville wants someone with experience and has proven himself as a reliable running back, Knight is an excellent option.
