Jackson Shelstad

Louisville’s glaring No. 1 target at the moment is the former 5-star recruit and the Oregon transfer Jackson Shelstad. Louisville was immediately a team to keep an eye on, and just moments after Brown declared for the NBA Draft, the Cardinals earned a visit from the 4-star transfer.

Louisville wastes no time landing a huge visit from perfect Mikel Brown Jr. replacement

Shelstad ranked No. 24 overall and No. 6 among point guards in the 2023 recruiting class and has had an impressive collegiate season so far. Last year, while it was cut short by an injury, the former 5-star scored 20 or more points in five of his 12 games and ended the season averaging 15.6 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.

The 4-star transfer has shown flashes of his 5-star potential when he made the Pac-12 All-Freshman team after averaging 12.8 points while shooting 45 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from 3-point range. He now ranks as high as No. 8 overall and No. 2 among point guards in the portal, and Louisville will earn a visit Friday, and is in a recruiting battle with Arizona, as the Wildcats will earn a visit next Tuesday.
